Shortfin mako

Characteristics: A large shark of fusiform and rather slender body and a long and acutely pointed snout. Teeth strong and relatively few, alike in both jaws, backward-pointing and smooth edged. The first dorsal fin comparatively large, the second small. Pectoral fin moderately long, caudal fin lunate. Back grey blue, occasionally deep blue, belly white. Maximum size: 400 cm.
Distribution: Eastern part of the Oman Sea.
