Characteristics:
  • Body oval and compressed, dorsal and ventral profiles equally convex, the former showing a distinct notch at the commencement of the “nuchal crest”.
  • Head and breast scale less.
  • Belly silvery; back with dark, wavy vertical lines; a brown blotch on nape; distal part of spinous dorsal fin grey in adults.
  • Maximum size: 13.5 cm.
Distribution: Caught south of Hormuz Island.
